EDITION, PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT, 44 × 63 MM, INK,
GLASSLINE SLEEVE, OPEN EDITION
A portrait of the subject altered in a smartphone application by repeated use of a photo filter exaggerating its masculine features. Printed in one of the small scale standard formats used for the customary Swedish school portraits, and stamped on the back in blue (ALFA, Swe. for alpha) and red (A-FL). A blush on the cheeks in red ink was applied with the tip of a finger.
The prints are held in small glassline sleeves distributed mainly through libraries and bookshops; secretly slipped into titles on subjects generally associated with constructed masculinity; such as combat sports, polemology, fishing and hunting, motorsports as well as books by macho writers like Charles Bukowski, Jack Kerouac and Henry Miller. Open edition.
